Leadership
Today, leaders work in an environment that demands:
- respect for individuals and their work habit choices;
- deep understanding of human motivation and change;
- creative leadership across a multi-generation workforce; and,
- unique approaches to resourcefulness, productivity and work-life balance.
During our 30 years experience in education, business and equestrian
teaching, we found that working with horses quickly exposes leadership
characteristics. Horses, as herd animals, are keenly aware of our strengths and
weaknesses and provide immediate feedback about our leadership approach. In
addition to working with horses, your leadership retreat will include work on
your individual leadership characteristics, strengths and communication styles.
We offer a robust event for your leadership team or you, as an individual
leader, in an environment removed from day to day demands.
Our experienced staff at Raspberry Grove Equestrian Center will help you:
- Identify and become aware of the impacts of your leadership style on
others;
- Develop language skills to help you communicate more effectively and get
better response from your staff;
- Identify your strengths and practical ways to build on your strengths; and
- Develop a personal leadership action plan to continue leadership growth as
you apply new skills in your workplace.
Create your leadership retreat from the menu of formats below:
Workshops – Select sessions from our menu of
current topics. We will lead you through practical exercises and activities
to follow your intended application of these topics to your work plans. The
capstone activity includes development of your own unique Continuing Application
Strategy Plan© to help you transfer your learning back to your work environment.
Seminars – Provide topics to us and we will include keynote speakers
and guest lecturers to help level-set your group’s knowledge and provide content
for the work in other sessions.
Facilitated sessions - Our experienced facilitators will help you
drive out the concepts on your “to do” list. We offer facilitation from the
highest level strategy development to the lowest level of detail. Great for
project planning too!
Topic-driven retreats – Go deep in knowledge by making your choice of
activities focused on one topic. You may include seminars, workshops and
facilitated sessions as formats for your single topic event. You may choose a
topic from our menu of current topics and let us help you determine whether you
want workshops, seminars, facilitated sessions or a mix.

Trainers
Trainers face many of the same challenges as classroom educators in the
school system. However, the differences in a training environment are to:
- Provide a framework for the improvement of teaching and learning to
improve the business bottom line;
- Hold people accountable for making the changes required in their new work
processes and procedures learned in the training;
- Create credible work assessments that provide ongoing plans for
professional development and workplace improvement;
- Provide “upgrades” within the business when utilizing external training
providers and certification programs;
- Design or adapt training in-house that is aligned with job descriptions,
roles, processes and procedures;
- Provide flexible, realistically time-boxed instructional delivery that
enables continual learning for employees while having enough time to remain
productive on the job.
Organization Planning & Design at Raspberry Grove Equestrian Center provides
workshops, seminars, facilitated sessions and topic driven retreats as part of
the foundation for ongoing professional development.
